A Colwood neighbour
with a stake in our future

Eugene Tseng — candidate for Colwood City Council

I live in Royal Bay with my wife and two children who are growing up here right now — my stake in Colwood's future is personal and immediate.

Having made the decision with my wife to move to the Island and plant our roots here, I know what it means to families to build a new life in a new community. This shapes how I think about inclusive, affordable growth — and why it matters for every family in Colwood.

As a public servant, I know how government decisions get made — and how to hold decision-makers accountable.

My board experience with several charitable non-profit organizations gives me real insight into what it looks like to deliver housing, health, and other services that we all depend on.

Three priorities
for a growing Colwood

01

Sustainable Growth

  • More homes people can afford
  • More options for seniors to age in place, including long-term care facilities
  • Accountability on major developments
  • Expansion of parks, trails, green spaces, and other community amenities to keep up with population growth
02

Services We Can Count On

  • More access to primary care services
  • Support for expanded childcare access and community services for families and seniors
  • Better public transit and transportation choices for a growing city to reduce traffic impacts
  • Waste collection provided by the city to lower costs
03

Safe, Connected Community

  • Smart, fiscally responsible investment in public safety, including West Shore RCMP detachment expansion
  • Expanded programming for youth, families, and seniors at Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre
  • A future Colwood Community Centre at Quarry Park and other future community facilities where needed
  • A safe and accessible waterfront multi-use pathway
